It has been a joy to teach for more than 24 years in Cleburne County Schools. I have been the library media specialist at Cleburne County Middle School since 2006. Before coming to CCMS, I taught second grade at Cleburne County Elementary School and kindergarten at Fruithurst Elementary School.
I believe that teaching is a calling and a new adventure every day. My students are a top priority and I am proud to work with other educators in Cleburne County who believe the same. No matter what changes are made in education, students can succeed when educators build positive relationships with students and their families and work together to remove all barriers to learning and provide authentic learning opportunities in a safe and fun learning environment. All children can learn!
I love Auburn University! That's where I earned my bachelor's degree in elementary education. I earned my master's degree in library science at Jacksonville State University.
In 2016, I published Growing Up Auburn through Mascot Books. It's been fun to meet new people through book signings. I plan to publish more books in the future for fans of other universities.
My son plays football, basketball, and baseball. His schedule keeps us busy, but we love it! I enjoy supporting our community through Kiwanis Club of Cleburne County, Heflin Arts Council, and Heflin First United Methodist Church.
In our free time, we like to play outside with our German shepherd, swim, and watch sunsets.
