  • Updated Student Return Date - Monday, January 11, 2021

Due to recent rising Covid cases in our communities, Cleburne County Schools will be delaying in person learning after Christmas break. The new plan is for students to return in person on Monday, January 11, 2021. We will start this semester as we ended the first semester using Friday as our virtual day. We will continue to evaluate the success of this method and the health of our communities to determine any necessary changes. Thanks for your flexibility and understanding during this Covid pandemic.

  • While Cleburne County faculty and staff members are working diligently to get school “back to normal,” administration realizes that at certain times students may not be able to physically attend school based on area COVID data. For this reason, the Cleburne County School System would like to explain a three-phase plan for school during these unsettled times. Please understand that decisions determining what phase our schools are operating in will be based on state and local data. Our intent is to notify students/parents in a timely manner in order for families to make the necessary arrangements.

Based on current state and local data, the Cleburne County School System will start the school year on August 13 with the Phase Two Plan.

An explanation of the plans can be found on the Cleburne County Schools Website at www.cleburneschools.net/2020

  • Hello Parents and Community Members,

At such an uncertain time for us all, one thing is certain...the sense of unity we all have and the love of the Cleburne County community that we share.

Our school system needs your help to be sure that we receive the funding we need for operating expenses next school year. If you have not completed your Census questionnaire, we truly need you to do that! The census directly impacts funding for our schools.

Here is the link to use to fill out the census.

    https://2020census.gov/

It takes less than 5 minutes to complete. We need everyone to be counted! Please help your school system so that we can better serve you!

Thank you all so much! We truly look forward to seeing you again soon!

Welcome

  • Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year. I am Adam Dasinger, principal here since the summer of 1998. PGES is a wonderful school that has an inviting "family culture". We aim to educate our students in a positive environment. Our faculty is dedicated to the students in all aspects of their education. I invite you to read about their biographies and professional qualifications at our website. Our students are the reason why we are here and you will find that our teachers treat them "like their own".

Coming from a proud, hardworking tradition, PGES started in the 1920s when one room school house consolidation began. By the late 1920s, Pleasant Grove Junior High School was established and remained that way until the building burned in the early 1970s. After the fire, Pleasant Grove Elementary School has been established on the same campus and now incorporates grades pre-kindergarten through sixth grade. We are proud of our past and excited about what the future holds for us here at PGES as well as Cleburne County.

Welcome again to the start of a new year. If I can be of assistance, please call me at 256-253-2146
    Go, Hollis !!!
    Adam Dasinger, Principal
