Beginning School and Orientation Information

        Classes for CCHS students will begin on Monday, August 9, at 7:35 a.m.  Orientation for incoming 7th grade students will be Thurdsay, August 5, beginning at 8:00 a.m.  Seventh grade students are to pick up their schedules in the lobby of the gym between 8:00 and 8:15 a.m. and then be seated in the gymnasium by 8:15 a.m.  Seventh grade students should bring $5.00 (correct change, please) to pay for locker rental.  The orientation program will last until approximately 10:00 a.m.  As part of theorientation program, students will tour the campus and meet their teachers, and then report to homeroom to pay for locker rental.  Parents are urged to see that their students attend the orientation session so that student transition to high school will be as comfortable as possible.  Parents will have a brief parent orientation in the gym while their students are touring the campus.  Supply lists will be given to students at the orientation session.  Parents of incoming 7th grade students who wish to be in Beginner Band should attend a meeting in the Bandroom at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 2.

        Schedules for students in grades eight through twelve will be mailed on Thursday, July 29.  Each student's schedule has been carefully prepared to be as near to his requests as possible.  Students whose health forms are not current will not receive a schedule or be permitted to attend school until a current blue form is brought to school.  Students in grades 8 through 12 will rent locker space on the first day of school at a cost of $5.00 per student.  Students who drive vehicles to school will purchase parking decals at a cost of $10.00 per student.  A student must have a driver's license to purchase a parking decal.

        Students who are new to the Cleburne County High School district should call the school at (256) 463-2012 for an appointment to come and pre-register for school by July 28.
